ANICO & Universal Conversion Technologies Announce Fixed-Price Conversion Services Agreement

August 12, 2002 - Dallas, TX...Today, American National Insurance Company (ANICO) and Universal Conversion Technologies (UCT) announced an Agreement whereby UCT will provide conversion assistance for ANICO to convert some 2.7 million policy records from 4 different sources to 2 target administration systems. UCT will provide this service under a fixed-price and guaranteed delivery schedule, an industry exception.

Chuck Addison, CIO of ANICO, stated that UCT's stellar track record of delivering ahead of schedule and their willingness to assure cost certainty separated UCT from all of their other options.

Jerry Kaul, UCT's Sales & Marketing Executive, stated that ANICO's knowledge, cooperation, and support during the due diligence phase of the proposal made it possible to cost the engagement so that both parties ended up with precisely the terms that they wanted.

The conversions will be staged in phases and will result in sunsetting numerous ANICO systems.
